(More customer reviews)I didn't want to spend a ton on a R-134A refrigerant detector since i'm a hobbyist mechanic for friends and family.
This device fits the bill for me.
A few things you should note.
1. The sensor is shipped separately in a secure package. Before use, install the sensor.
2. Use in a guarded area where you don't have a lot of wind or breeze.
3. Take your time scanning - whipping the sensor around will cause a false result.
4. Leak Detector has High and Low sensitivity settings which prove helpful
For the money you can't complain. Sure it may not have all the advanced features, but your also not paying for them, and the tool works well.
It lost one star only because it can be a little deceptive if there is any slight breeze, but if you are aware of it, it's not an issue.
Ditch the UV Dye and get one of these tools.
