(More customer reviews)While this air filter is used in some cars as a cabin air filter, in the 2007 Ford Escape hybrid it is used as the air filter for the hybrid battery (in the back of the car). While you could drop by your Ford dealer and pick up the same part (5M6H-19N619-AD) for twice the price, this Wix filter is of top quality and a perfect fit. Just as good as the excellent Ford part. [The complex hybrid battery has it's own heat/cool system.]
BTW, in the hybrid this filter should be changed every 25,000 miles or so. I waited 50,000 miles but by then the original was filthy and that tends to trip the Ford hybrid service-soon idiot light (a wrench). You can change the filter without tools. It is under a plastic cover on the left side of the trunk. The Wix filter includes air-flow markings, making it easy to install.
