Considering a shop charges up to $90 for coolant system flush and fill, it made sense to buy this tool. There are 13 quarts of coolant in my truck between the engine block and radiator. The coolant was pretty old and I needed to change it all. I drained the radiator, re-filled with distilled water in about 3 minutes with this tool, ran the motor (heater on) until the T-stat opened for about 15 minutes. Let the motor cool down, then drained and re-filled the radiator with water, run motor, etc. 4 times until the coolant was clear water. After the final radiator drain, I re-filled with 100% coolant to mix with the water in the engine block for a 50-50 mix.
The tool works great in preventing air pockets in the system and I also found a few flat band hose clamps that leaked when the tool pulled a vacuum on the system.
There were other similar tools for more money, but this one worked fine for me.
