(More customer reviews)I bought this gas detector because my carbon monoxide/natural gas detector (Kidde KN-COEG-3 Nighthawk Plug-In Carbon Monoxide and Explosive Gas Alarm with Battery Backup) started randomly going off with an indication of natural gas. As it turns out the detectors were defective and were replaced by the manufacturer. To figure this out though, I bought this gas detector to go through my house.

Okay, the biggest drawback on this device is the poor documentation. I could not figure out how the sensitivity worked and basically had to use trial and error to figure out where to set the knob. That said, this detector is otherwise a fantastic device. It will even detect natural gas traces once a stove burner has been turned off. So really if there is gas or was gas coming from a fixture or a pipe, this device will detect it.
In a real world setting, I used this device to find a micro-leak at my parent's house. We would occasionally smell natural gas at their house and not at other times. Before getting this tool we could never figure out exactly where the leak was coming from.
If you have a leak or are nervous about potentially having a leak, this is the device to buy. Even though I don't need this device anymore, it's a permanent part of my toolbox for any future mishaps.
